Talk on writing and publishing in the Irish language today

This is a great opportunity to hear Micheál Ó Conghaile, one of Ireland's most celebrated writers and publishers, give his views on Irish language and culture.

Micheál Ó Conghaile established the publishing company Cló IarChonnachta (CIC) in 1985 and the company has since published over 400 books and 200 traditional Irish music albums. He is himself a prolific and talented writer of poetry, plays, novels and short stories and he has also worked as a translator.

Micheál will talk about being brought up on a small island with a population of 40 people off the West of Ireland coast as a native Irish speaker, the state of the Irish language in Ireland today and his work as a creative writer and publisher in the Irish language. He will read one of his short stories.

Directions:
"Humanisten" (Humanities building) is located at Renströmsgatan 6, near Götaplatsen at the south end of Kungsportsavenyn. 
Room C364 is just beyond the coffee shop when you come in the entrance on Renströmsgatan
